black sticky eggs

guys,i moved the BBQ today(yes England is sunny today )
and under the grill part was a black sticky mass of eggs ?
i have not come across anything like this befor in the garden.
there is no body of water near by,so i ruled out frogs, newts, toads.
the eggs are very small, and black like the Tar consistancy of what they are incased in ?
i'm going to try an do a picture, but don't hold your breath for that.
any idea what they are ?

i put them on a sea shell to be able to move them out of the way,
i have put them in the same area that i found them.
the shell is samll, maybe an inch long so you get an idea of how small the eggs are.
sorry the pictures not very good.
it's just i have never seen anything in such a gooy mass befor,it's thicker than frog spawn, almost the
consistancy of gum ??

no clue but it can't be good - right?

aunt kymmie 04-11-2010 11:32 AM

Well, if the eggs are that small they could be some type of insect eggs??

willow 04-11-2010 03:09 PM

gross is right !!
i've not come across anything like that befor,i mean it's so icky sticky like coal tar.
well i put them back in the area they were,my daughter said put them in a pot and see
what hatches out,but i don't know if i could do that, they kinda creep me out,
especially if they were to turn out like spiders.

dramaqueen 04-11-2010 05:46 PM

I don't know if I would want to know what they are. lol

Romad 04-11-2010 05:49 PM

I'm not that curious either. I would have destroyed them already. Rather, I would have had my boyfriend do it LOL.
