I fighter should be OK in there, but reagrding the fish what are you looking for? Everyone is gonna have there personal oppion on this.

I would maybe get several cories (for the bottem) or a pleco (not a common or gibby).

For the top, I would add more neons (they are pretty cool looking in larger numbers), and maybe a couple of dwarf cichilids (some type of Apistos).

If by fighting fish you mean betta you could get one male or one pair. Don't buy one if you plan on having guppies or gouramis. These are too similar in appearance and the betta won't like it. You also don't want to put a betta with any fin nippers.

You could also get a pair of Dwarf Gourami or Honey Gourami. Or some praecox rainbowfish.

Two of the dwarf chichlids (Bolivian and the Blue ram) are bottom dwellers.

For the bottom, if you think you have enough floor space you can get both the ram and the cory but if you think there isnt enough space, dont do it. Top dwellers can include hatchet fish. I wouldnt suggest a pleco, they are big waste producers no matter the size

Try a betta...one male should do just fine...but not with gouramis or other fin nippers...

...if you add females, you have to add more than one...a pair will fight...

...neons look best in a group of 15-20...if you add more you might be very pleased with their shoaling behaviour...

...cory cats (a school of 6) will do great on the bottom...

get some tiger barbs... a large pack of them... 6 or 7. they are a very active and fun fish to watch... just my .02

Barbs (unless you get a five banded) dont go well with neon tetras...too aggressive
