need help with a pair of toadstool corals
i was at my LFS and the owner gave me a deal for 2 toadstool corals for 45 bucks :-D. so i bought them, well the problem is that they are on the same rock, and i need to remove one because i only want one of them and i want to sell the other to a buddy. but how do i remove them? is there any reasonably safe ways?

i cant get a good picture of the two bases, but they are both indevidualy attached to a rock. i need to know how to remove them from the rock so i can move the one because they are right next to each other

its hard to see but if there is live rock between them, then thats where you want to cut through using a dremel or a hacksaw if you dont have a dremel. If they are joined together at the bottom you Will need to slice a slot at the join down to the live rock then cut as before.

should i cut as close to the live rock as possible? or make a clean strait cut just above the live rock?

the easiest way is to cut down between them leaving their existing foot hold on the live rock less stressful on the coral . if you are wanting to remove one completely from the live rock cut it as close to the live rock as you can then get a tooth pick and put it through the bottom of the coral, put the coral on another piece of live rock and use a elastic band going from either side of the tooth pick under the live rock to hold the bit you cut on the live rock. once you do this you need to put the coral in a low flow area and leave it for 2 weeks for it to attach, then remove the band and tooth pic
