ancistrus sp. diet
since I was having an whole collection of algae in my tank, I decided to get myself a algae eater.
I went to the aquarium shop and got myself 3 bristlenose pleco's.
my aquarium is too small for 3 grown pleco's but now it's just fine since they are only 1 inch in length.
I already see progress in the battle against the algae tnx to the pleco's.8)
I just have one question: I feed them ''sera vipachips''(the pringles-shaped things), and algae.
since I do not have any driftwood (yet) is this good for now???
I would definitely get some driftwood if you can. Things like algae wafers are a good staple, with meaty foods like shrimp pellets and bloodworms from time to time.
Today was another bad day, my pentazona's(I'm going to sell these jerks) have eaten my smallest ancistrus sp.
they have eaten it down to the bone, you could'nt even recognise what kinda fish it was.
I have moved the other ancistrus's to my brothers guppy tank wich is only like 35 litres, but I think they will be fine there for a couple of days.
tomorrow I'm gonna get myself some nice driftwood ;)
oh, i'm so sad to hear about your fish making a meal out of #3. driftwood is a must and mine likes blanched zuccini as well. once the bn's are past their juvenile stage it might be a good idea to separate them as they start to become territorial, unless you obtain a tank large enough to house them both. they might still get territorial, however.
