Me and my algae crew are going to be good friends

I've got two ottos and an SAE (real one, not the pseudo one) in my 60 gallon (which I need to put up an updated pic of). I always thought ottos were cute and I wanted the SAE because 1.) I've always wanted one and 2.) my water has a lot of phosphates and likes go grow algae despite a heavily planted tank. I don't even dose phosphates or else it really gets out of control.

Anyway, where I live, the real SAE is very hard to come by so when I found someone selling them, of course I got one. :D

The crew has been hard at work and enjoying themselves. I noticed last night someone worked quite diligently on a stone wall decoration I have and got it squeaky clean. Yesterday the top of it was green. Today, it looks like it does after I've scrub it.

I had to give them a raise and bumped up the light hours to grow enough algae for them.

You will be sorry soon.
You have algae not because of the phosphates but because there is no ballance betwen phosphate and nitrate.
I keep trying to convince people to learn about the redfield ratio but it seems nobody has any interest in it...

You might want to wait a while just to see how your otos settle in, but they like to be in groups so getting at least three more would be a good idea.
