Growing plants from bulbs

I just tossed some bulbs in my tank - how long will it take them to sprout?

Lupin 09-06-2006 10:33 PM

As some bulbs are quite slow to grow, you may have to wait. CO2 usually increase speed of growth.
What plants are they? Nymphea or aponogetons?

I dont know, they are "assorted" from petsmart. I have CO2 setup on the tank as well as a vermiculite lower substrate topped with sand as recommended here: http://www.thekrib.com/Plants/kelly-intro.html. As I am planning on using this tank to grow plants for my new 90gal, and i am planning on getting discus....what type of plants should I start growing?

Josh, here is the reference for discus tanks. There are plants included in it.
Good luck. :nicefish:
