Welcome to the forum!

Those look like mutilated/deformed pearl gouramis.

AnthonyR1 03-20-2010 04:23 AM

hehehehe, ya i think they're gourami...but i certainly didn't mutilate them :-o

2 types of this same fish seem to be in a lot of the shops here in Thailand....this yellow version and a much darker orange version. look like pearl gourami but definitely a different shape, turned up mouth and a lot more discus shaped.

hello and welcome.
i do have to say they look deformed pearl gouramis, pearls mouths are
turned upward, beause they are top feeders.

hmmmm.....odd.
a "deformity" local to where i am? the reason i say that is because most of the shops have them here...shaped this way. my little unique, deformed gouramis :-?
here's a couple more pics....and thanks

perhaps they have been crossed with something................
like a baloon molly ?
i don't know,as long as you like them:-D

AnthonyR1 03-20-2010 10:45 AM

ya they're cool :-)
very calm, mellow fish. nothing compared to the 2 demasoni cichlids i just got today...agressive

willow 03-20-2010 10:47 AM

are you housing them all together in the same tank ?

AnthonyR1 03-20-2010 11:00 AM

i am..... i'm relatively new to this and my tank is rather small (10G)
i have a few fish but all pretty tiny.
so far no major dramas i just noticed that the demasonis are very territorial :-)

willow 03-20-2010 11:21 AM

would you be able to afford a large tank for the cichlids to be by themselves ?
