Suicidal platy in lemming style leap
 

Hey :-)

One of my platys did a mose dive out of the tank onto the floor. The tank is about waist height. I expected the poor thing to b dead to be honest but it looked intact so i put it back in the tank. This was 2 days ago.

Now the fish has a very sore looking eye. Its very bulbous. n drained of colour. Big and white. I have tried to take a picture but the fish stays in the rock house type thing only leaving to feed.

I am assuming that the injury was caused by the huge leap for freedom but is there any disease that can cause such an infliction??

Also just in passing, ALL platys are pregnant without a male platy in sight lol. They must have some decent storage in there!!! And bought a new platy 2day. Shes a very pretty apricot colour. Beautiful :-)

i would say that the eye problem was from the fall....there are medication that you can add to a tank ....but i carnt remember the name ....i think its melafix or sumething....this usually clears up most things....and helps swelling :):):)

Sadly the injured fish died today :(
