Can a balloon Molly mate with a regular molly?

I have a male balloon molly (he is the only balloon molly i have) and he seems to be ALL OVER my regullar female mollys. He's the only male in the tank right now and seems to be enjoying himself....haha! Anyways, if they can mate with eachother, will the fry be deformed? Will they survive? Just kinda curious!:hmm:

Yes, as long as there in the same Family/Species they can breed and the resulting would be a combination of the Parents E.g Color Pattern.

Both, and the Quality of the Fry depends if the parents are already inbred or not.

Depends on the male... I know some males are more interested in... mating... than others. But most likely she'd get pregnant in a few days probably. As I noticed with my balloon molly my males went crazy after she gave birth. I'm sure the males would go crazy after the female since she isn't pregnant...

But if you buy it from a store its likely already pregnant so it'll take some time for the selected molly to become the father I'd think. ;P

yea some males want "it" more than others :):):) and i agree...when you buy a female for a pet shop they are usually pregnant

In order for Balloon Molly fry to occur, both parents need to carry the recessive "balloon" gene.
