new feather fin catfish nowhere to be seen?
Hey everyone, i tried a quick pan of the forums to see if anyone else had this problem, but, yesterday i introduced a featherfin to my 20 gallon Long to grow for a bit. Then, this morning he's nowhere to be seen, I was wondering if these guys have a habit of burrowing or jumping, as I checked all around the tank and couldn't find him (and i mean like, all of the surrounding floor as well).
If he did jump there's a possibility that my cat found him and either thought he was delicious or moved him out of my sight somewhere that I'll find in a week super grossified.
Thanks in advance
Is the tank covered?
IME every time i introduce catfish to a new aquarium (also every breed of shrimp and my puffers) they take a few days (or weeks) to feel comfortable enough to come out. I introduced catfish to my tank a week ago and some of them started coming out and some are nowhere to be seen. I'd give it a few more days.
Unless there is absolutely nowhere for it to hide, then maybe it did get eaten. But probably just hiding somewhere. Did you check under the caves in the dw, behind filter hosing, etc.?
