Pregnant dwarf platy??
 

Hello everybody!
I have a dwarf platy that has gotten quite plump, especially compared to her little boyfriend, and I'm pretty sure she's pregnant but I haven't seen any gravis spots. how far a long does she have to be before they'll show up? Do they always show up? I'm new to the whole pregnant fish thing and would love any advice anyone has. Attached is a pic of her and her boyfriend

haha shes really big and ive seen platies smaller than that and they gave birth and ur gonna have alot of fry i hope

That's what I'm hoping for! I'm really excited! Will I see gravid spots soon?

I'm not sure about platys but with guppies you can actually see the babies eyeballs right near the mom's "opening" and that is within the last week before they give birth. I have also noticed that the "opening" kind of bulges out a tad the day she is going to release the fry. So maybe you will see that and know to be ready! :)

Just an update....She's even bigger now, since this morning, but still no gravid spots....keep waiting for them.

if you carnt see gravid spots yet then she will only be in the early stages of pregnancy but the bigger the gravid spots the more fry and the closer to giving birth she will be....also do you have any more closer pics so i can estimate if shes pregnant and how long she has left ????....:):):)
