I think I read somewhere that they are truly blue crayfish. Maybe a search for that will help.

Yep, try www.bluecrayfish.com. There's a good faq section.

I went to www.poseidondbe.com, their maintenance section is very easy to understand and basically tells you everything you should know about maintenance of the lobster tank.

By lobster, I assume you mean crayfish or crawdad...if so, try this link:

http://crayfish.byu.edu/faq.htm

It gives a big more varied information than the usual crayfish sites...

Everything I've read states that there aren't any freshwater lobsters, only saltwater. I'm thinking it has to be a crayfish, which are marketed as lobsters. I'd love to see a picture if you can find the time to post one.

There is some taxonomy that states there are fresh water lobster but it is still debated as to the actual family from what I have found. There is a true fresh waTer lobster but you would need one huge tank as they get 18+ inches long and are found in Australia. I think there is also a fresh water "lobster" in Scotland in Loche ness but I am not sure if it is a lobster, is truely freshwater or what.

Be very careful with them Sazzy, because they are not sml for long and have a tendency to eat their tankmates. I will never stock them again :shake: after the last one I had ate a £16 5" parrot cichlid for dinner
