Oscar disapeared????

About a week ago I got an oscar, a jack dempsey, and a convict. The oscar was the biggest out of the bunch. I noticed he started getting that "slime" stuff on him so I went and got the stuff to treat it but he wasn't doing very good last night when I went to bed. Today I got up and there is no trace of him. I've taken out all the decor and checked around EVERYTHING. I checked the floor all around the tank. I don't see any trace of him. Is it possible a baby Jack Dempsey and a convict ate an oscar bigger than them (the oscar was about the size of both of them put together)? Would there be some sort of carcass or something floating around? The only thing I can think of that sounds reasonable is the fish jumped out of the tank and the dog ate it (The tank is covered though). Any ideas?

Welcome to TFK!

I'd go with the dog theory. I don't think two fish would be able to completely eat a fish considerably larger than themselves in the course of a night.

have you checked your filters ??? is it possible that it could have been sucked up the filter ?

Very strange. i hope you figure it out.

If it was the dog, you'll probably never know unless he speaks one of these days.

Sorry you lost your fish.
