Bumblebee Goby species only tank; feeding method question

Would BB Gobies eat from a floating feeding cone, if the tank is long instead of tall, so the water shallow? I know they're bottom feeders but is there any way to wean them into eating from the feeding cone (to avoid live food escaping into the substrate)? If not I'll just clean up after them when they're done eating.:-)

P.S.--like I meantioned in the subject, this is a species only tank; the gobies won't have any competition going after their food, other than other BB gobies of course.

Gobies will more than likely have no problem learning to feed from a feeding cone. Gobies, despite their classification as a bottom dweller, tend to actually hang out on all levels of the aquarium provided they have somewhere to sit. I know my friend's and my gobies would relax on top of leaves that were right near the surface.

So do you think I could invest in some of those leaves that have stems to suction cup to the inside of the tank? People use them as betta hammocs. Or even a floating betta log? It would get them used to hanging out near the top of the water where their food will be.

It wouldn't hurt. Gobies have great eyesight, so they'll definitely know where the food is without any sort of coaxing. Don't worry too much. But yes, I have those plants with suction cups for my bettas, and I'd say they're fine. They'll hang out where they please, not where food necessarily will be. I use a feeding cone for my dwarf puffers. They never go near it even when I'm there unless they see that I have food. It's just down to their personality.
