Snail quarantine
 

Im not sure if Im posting this in the right spot or not, but do new snails need to be quarantined? If so, what would they need for food as I dont there there is any/much algae or anything else to be eaten in my QT tank. Thanks

as for Saltwater snails I'd so the same (i don't have a Saltwater tank)

Thanks. According to one large supplier of snails, www.reefcleaners.org, there are only a few species that are known carriers of parasites that affect fish. There may be more than a few, but for the species normally used in our marine tanks apparently its not an issue (Astrea, Nassarius, Cerith, etc.). While I also believe quarantine is necessary I just thought I would share the information I have learned. Cheers
