After an astonishing discovery, my convicts have finally bred!
The acclaimed "male" turned out to be female, and spawned this morning with another pink convict.
The tank is 29 gallon with hard water, ph 7.0, and a biowheel filter *forgot the model number*
Temp is 80, F.
The mother has taken the dmoinant role with the eggs and the father does nothing more than beat up the other female *dither fish.*
Tank mates are 2 colombian ramshorn snails, 2 bushynose plecos, and the three convicts.
3 pots as spawning sites, and a "natural" looking cave area site.
Currently feeding blood worms and brine shrimp, and culturing some green water for the fry.
Does everything here look successful so far?
Female cons do have orange spot on their bellies.:) Looks like everything is running smoothly.:)
Eggies are below the female.
Keep watching them, discreetly of course, and send me a cigar. lol
And over the past two days, I've seen only two infertile eggs, which were both promptly removed by the female.
TODYA THEY LOOK DARKER!!!
I can't wait for mah lil' nephews.
Glad everything is going well.:)
And today, BAZING.
Most of the eggs have hatched and the parents are doing wonders to keep them all in the right corner of the pot!
And now, all teh babies is es hatched and swimming in le pot. :D
Where's my cigar?
*gives you a cigar*
