what would happen if...

I put 7 neon tetras into a 3 gallon?
would it be okay if i did 10% W/C everyday?
Please stop me if its wrong

I kind of think neon tetras would be better off in a larger tank... but to answer your questions they'd probably die. Neon tetras are sensitive and water parameters are more difficult to maintain in smaller tanks as opposed to larger ones.

If you are going to go against everyone's advice (I know everyone here is going to tell you not to do it)... at least, if anything get 5 not 7.

Why change 10% of the water daily? Maybe 25% two times a week. U can do 50% WC once every 5 days instead of 10% daily and it'd be the same if not better.

I don't think you should house them in a 3 gallon tank. Most 3 gallon tanks don't come with heaters or filters... which u need for those fish!

I suggest looking into a 10 gallon tank they are pretty cheap for a standard one.

Don't worry TFK community, I don't plan to raise neons in a 3 gallon. :D

I think the most important point Austin raised is about the heater. Really small tanks have some pretty extreme temperature swings as they absorb and radiate heat a lot faster than larger tanks. It's also very difficult finding heaters for tanks that size, especially adjustable ones. I would go with something at least 5g for a group of neons.
