I'm new to this forum and I have a question about filter media as I'm going to get a new filter,
JBL now have a new media called MicroMec (not to be confused with NitraEx). JBL claim this media has an outer and inner layer, the outer layer for the aerobic bacteria and the inner layer for anaerobic bacteria (denitrating) as it's devoid of oxygen even when put in a normal external filter.
This seems a bit to good to be true, has anyone used this media? Is it just as good as standard sintered glass stuff at dealing with Ammonia/Nitrite and does it realy denitrate effectively.
Any comments please, Ivan66
Hi Ivan. I don't know the answer to your question but I wanted to welcome you to the forum. Hopefully someone who knows the answer will be along shortly.
