MTS - I am SO TORN (puffers)

Ahhh we have this local sales site right ; kinda like craigslist just better...anyway so I was doing my weekly "tank check" and found......

55g complete set up with 4 figure 8 puffers :|

Now its a standard 55g so being 4ft long I really only have 1 spot left in the house I could put it and I already tried talking myself outta it for room reasoning.....so I told hubby about it (awaiting a NO!) and he's like "Shoot for 100 bucks get it, the fish alone would cost ya half of that"

Now I'm REALLY torn up what to do/ not to do cause he didn't say no neither :|

Already posted in the Puffer section to see if a 55g would be enough room for 4 adults; we'll see if I can get any Intel there....

Let me throw a monkey wrench in there for one second. I'ts no doubt the economy is bad. And the clowns we have in the gov and the white house are not there to do good for America. Extreme troubles are on the way. Yes, they are on the way. If anyone doubts it, they're dreaming.

You might slow down a bit because if things get as bad as it sounds they might, ain't none of us gonna be able to keep fish at all. Adding that many more is that many more that will be (use your imagination here). Flushed, killed, dumped, you name it. Maybe what you have should be what you have and leave it there.

Just saying

It could

It's really pretty simple. You know what the additional costs are going to be beyond the initial purchase price so if you have the room and the disposable income then go for it.

I'd say yeah as long as it fits your budget. A fifty five is plenty suitable for just four figure eights in my opinion, of course, depends on what you do with it filter and plant wise, especially since it's brackish.

and also as long as you have a place to put big ol' thing.

Anyway back to my hobby: The running cost would be power so dep on the exact Temp setting you're looking at $7-8/mos. Food will primarily be snails from a pers snail breeder set up then so I don't see any add major cost coming my way having puffers unless I'm overlooking something then pls tell me.

I think DP's are really neat. I personally don't think I would want them out of fear of killing the poor things. I like easy and simple. I am sure you are super on top of all your tanks and for that price and hubby's blessing go for it.
They are really cool little fish. Yeah what the hell. Go for it

A complete 55 w/ all the bow wow? Go for it. I would.
