LED lights over tank used for heating tank!
On one of my daily sites I visit I came across a article that is just too cool IMO I have to share.
This planted tank has a DIY LED light set up and the owner utilizes the tank water to cool off the hot LEDs and that warm water is returned to heat the tank - HOW AWESOME IS THAT!?!?!
I know there's 1-2 members here that had wanted to eventually DIY a led light strip and I can't recall the user names so hopefully you will see this and get ideas from it:-D
Cooling LEDs by heating the water saves on electricity - Hack a Day
Very cool! Seems a little beyond my DIY capabilities as I'd probably end up toasting my fish. I can see manufacturers making a retail version of this setup in the future.
This thread is running in both the freshwater and saltwater areas. For anyone interested in following along on the other thread, it is posted here: http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/s...03/#post335017
Yea I wouldn't pers built it myself neither but I still think the idea is pretty darn cool!
@Pasfur I figured it's neat for both FW/ SW to see and since either one group barley / never crosses the lines to read posts over int he other section I posted it for both to see :-)
