Just wanted to say bye
I don't know why I'm even bothering saying bye, but I thought that I owed it to the people that I liked on here and who have helped me. A couple times that I've had really sick fish, no one bothered to give me advice. :-( I spend hours on this website helping people which I love doing, but I would think that when I needed help the most, you guys would be there for me. The last post I did, thankfully Kelly gave me advice on, but 100+ people reviewed it and not one other person could help me? I would think that I'm not the only one that's had to deal with internal parasites. I might come back to help a couple people if I can answer their questions, but I'm going to do research myself instead of asking for help on here. Thank you for to the people that have helped me. :-) I'll miss talking to people on here, but I'm just so aggravated right now. If you want to keep in touch, send me a private message and I'll give you my e-mail or IM.

I'm sorry you feel like you have to say goodbye. :-( There are times I read posts where people are asking for help with problems but if I don't feel I can add helpful advice I decline from posting. You're right, you are not the only person who has had issues with parasites! Even though I've lost fish to parasites I'm not qualified to give advice regarding them, unless it's ich we are talking about. I hope you change you mind and stay!

I'm sorry... I think you're cool, and hopefully we'll see you around on the interwebz occasionally.
The same thing has happened to me before as well, just not with parasites. Other posts.

Sorry to see you go. Like Kymmie said, sometimes people will read your post hoping they can help, only to find out they don't have the experience or knowledge it takes to answer your question properly. Sometimes it's better to not answer at all then to answer with the incorrect information. The latter can be detrimental to your fish. I don't think people do it meliciously, sometimes people just don't know HOW to help you with your situation. Good luck with your fish and whatever you decide to do about this forum. Personally, I think it's the best one out there and the only one I refer to now. We have a great, knowledgable group of members on this forum and I am proud to be a member of it.

Sorry to see you go. I'm sure no one was trying to be mean on purpose or was saying "I'm just not going to help her, even though I know the answer." It's more likely that they didn't have an answer to give you, as in my case. A LOT of us are beginners with no experience with illnesses. I haven't dealt with internal parasites.

Sorry your fishy is sick. I'd do what Kelly originally suggested and use the Jungle parasite clear if he showed white poo more then once (which you said he did). Follow the directions on the meds. If he won't eat the food I don't know how to help you there.

I'm sorry you feel that way but I'm curious as to why you would just completely stop posting just because no one answered your questions? Like others have said sometimes you just don't know the answer. I read LOTS of posts but I'm not the kind of person who will comment if I have nothing constructive to add.. its a waste of my time and yours. Out of the 4 betta forums I'm on this one has the most young users.. so not everyone has been through or knows about every problem. If I had a problem I would take one good reply over 24 ones that say "I hope he feels better soon". JMO

Well said 1f2f.

I don't know why you would just stop posting because you didn't get some of your questions answered. I read your thread, I just don't know a single thing about IPs and didn't want to make some post that wouldn't even help.

So, we would love if you would stay!! It's fun to have you and your fish around.

But, if you feel you need a break, we'll understand.

Sorry to hear that you're leaving, and sorry to hear about your internal parasite issues!

It's also important to remember that we have a lot of guests (i.e. people that are just browsing the forum and not actually registered members of the site). Right now, tells me there are 53 members and 353 guests viewing the forum. So, the majority of views of your threads are always going to be people just browsing around the internet. In your case, it's likely that people were just Googling "betta internal parasite" or something along those lines and ended up in your thread. What I'm trying to say is, please don't be discouraged!

We're all here to learn. Yeah we have fun and joke. And no mater how long someone has been fish keeping there is always something new to learn. If we all knew the answers, especially about diseases, we wouldn't be here. We would be on sociopath networking sites like Facebook. It pains me to even say that name...

Fish disease is common. Not everyone has an answer. To merely judge by number of views you have compared to helpful answers is, well, it's wrong. I know it can be frustrating to not get an answer at times but we must keep trying. Researching for yourself should be done despite someone all knowing coming to your aid or not. The more self dependent a person is the better off they are. That's true for all of life. Not just fish disease.

Perk up sunshine. The world isn't coming to and end. Do what you can for your fish. If it doesn't work then at least you can say you tried your best. Everything dies sooner or later. Everything gets sick sooner or later. It's life. But you fight and give your best. That's all we can do.
