An African Planted Tank???

I'm just playing with my options...and enjoying my 'researching'... :D

If I plant my 75 g, do you know if a black ghost knife and an elephant nose would coexist well? My 11 year old son is in love with both species and I certainly don't mind them...

I've done a bit of reading and am getting conflicting information...

...but my tank HAS to be planted! That's not negotiable...:D

Mixing fish that emits electrical charges is not advisable. Both of the fish will not tolerate each other's presence due to the emission of electrical fields which prove to be a nuisance even to each other. Neither will you be advised to mix any bottom dwellers with them.

You can have your tank planted but you have to contemplate which fish you will keep. Not both, of course. Both will need caves. Not necessarily rocks. Woods will do.

Another thing...both are scaleless so I would advise against using treatments if ever needed unless you know what illness is exactly afflicting the fish. Some treatments will only harm and possibly kill them.

...I was wondering about the electric fields too...but I've found a couple of sites that list them as tank compatible... :?

Thanks for the fast response!
