Placing another order...have question on Cryptocorynes What is your favortie Crypto? I would like one that gets tall enough since my tank is the extra tall 56 gallon. I am eyeing Ciliata and the Walkeri. Since I already have the Red Melon Sword and the Ludwigia, I may not want to many more reddish highligted types. They are out of some of the Cryptos. I am kinda torn between the two cryptos above and another type of tall Anubia. I need to get this order in for shipment. |
Its really a matter of pers favor....I like the Walkeri better; but you may like the other one better due to its different shaped leaf's. I love mixing the Walkeri with the Wendtii Red :-) |

Gee, it is hard to decide. I am better when I see the plants in person. Even though I love the Ciliata one (shape of leaves) I think I am leaning towards the Walkeri. I like the narrower leaves as well especially since I am going have a few anubias. The Walkeri's have narrower leaves than the Ciliata's, right? It looks that way in the pic. Thanks. |
3 Attachment(s) I'm a PICTURE person as you may have noticed....I cut some pic's of the Killi tank with Cryptocoryne Walkeri for ya; these pictures show a Cryptocoryne Walkeri about 6-9mos old...Maybe that helps ya... |
Thanks so much for the pictures. They look great! How tall do they seem to get? I ended up with a phone call and still have not placed this order! |
Well, after muddling it over, this is what I got: (this is my second order) Echinodorus Barthii (Red Melon) Cryptocoryne Ciliata (chose this one I believe because of the height) Lilaeopsis Mauritiana Echinodorus Tenellus (Narrowleaf Chain) Anubias Frazeri Anubias Afzelii Water Wisteria I still need to get more of the Ludwigia Natans (Ludwigia Repens). They are out. :-( I am going to tighten my belt now. |
About 10-12" tall I REALLY think you have a bunch plants for the moment for you tank there :-) |
Natalie, with the crypts, did you bunch red and green crypts together? LOVE IT!! |
Actually I didn't. But one had a red one sitting behind it so that may give the visual effect of them being bunched as they grew out (also keep in mind these are picture cut outs of larger images and the quality is poor at best) |
Well it looks great nonetheless. |
