Oscars fighting

My Oscars don't fight each other. It's my sailfin pleco I'm having trouble with... he instigates. Normally around feeding time he'll come up and chase around the oscars. I started feeding him first then the oscars. The fights are getting pretty nasty. They tore up his dorsal pretty good. I need to reduce this otherwise I'll to trade in the oscars. Any suggestions?

How big is your tank, and what kind of decor do you have?

Well, if your pleco is the one instigating the problems I think you'd have difficulty keeping much of anything in that tank with him, at least not other bottom dwellers or larger fish that would make good targets. Perhaps some faster moving fish that stay closer to the surface would fare better?

Let us know how it works out with the new decor, though.

75 is too small for those fish anyway. One of either one of those fish would fill up a 75 especially the oscars. If you still want cichlids get some central american cichlids like firemouth and convcits. They will set your pleco straight.

Was the oscar dead? If so the pleco was probably just getting a free meal on an already dead fish...

What are your water parameters looking like? That is a ridiculous amount of bio load for that size tank.

Parameters are perfect... he looked great yesterday
