this may be a daft question???
i know that female guppys can store sperm but what if she is already pregnant will the new male replace the next sperm while the babys are developing or will the female simply not mate...because i had a female who resently gave birth and the first time the baby was from a male i KNOW is DEFINATLY the dad as he was the only male but 1 weeks after this i bought 2 more male and then the female had more babys a few weeks later than that so if she lived up the the storing sperm story then will all 6 of the babys i now have be from the male i had first??????????
thank you hope you understand what im trying to say........:):):)
I think you will end up with a mixture of the new sperm's fertilized eggs, and the old sperm's fertilized eggs. It will probably take a few births until you get fry that only have the male in your aquarium's genes.
Though I need someone to verify if I'm right or wrong...
i agree with this as the first baby dosnt have a lond tail like the dad but has a tail like its mom ...roundtail....i know there young and they could change yet in to different colours and shaped tails
