29 "Ocean Themed" Biocube with cichlids
Hi folks...I set up my 29 biocube finally, decided to go with freshwater instead of salt, but did a "fake ocean" decor. Seeded off an established tank. I have a pair of yellow labs, one orange mottled zebra cichlid, 1 kenyi cichlid, 1 bumblebee cichlid and 10 cories in it.

Pretty fish! I like the way you set up the aquarium decorations as well. :)
Thanks Austin :) Seems no one else likes it though haha
This tank looks pretty cool. The first picture one can almost not tell they are fake. I've never seen another. p cool in my opinion
Honestly even up close they look pretty real. A lot of the fake coral pieces are a rubbery substance that moves with the water current so that really adds a feel of reality to it, and the large piece in the back is painted very well...looks very real. Most non-fish people who stop by and see it and see the bright fish had no idea you could make a freshwater tank look that "oceany" and don't believe it's not salt.
Pretty cool. I bet you can trick your friends into thinking it's a saltwater tank, especially with the African cichlids in there. They are just as colorful as saltwater fish. lol
That is a very pretty tank. Question on your female Yellow Lab, I thought only the Mature Males start to turn black? or is that just shadow? I have a pair of yellow labs my self, I named them Echo and Narcissus (greek mythology) Most of my tanks have themed names hehe.
Dude that pic from far looks awesome!!!
The colors etc are amazing, although i personally think you should go s/w just for that
decor. No hassle with corals etc!
Anyways looks good.:-d
I love your tank!!
My friend has been interested in a salt water tank but doesn't want to go through the hassle of setting one up and maintaining it, we never would have thought of what you did with yours!
What type of light is the moon light? Are they LEDs?
