GloFish and Guppies??

Hello!!! I have a ten gallon tank that only has four guppies in it. so I am ready to add more fish and I was wondering if GloFish do well with guppies. I wasn't sure if the glofish were fin nippers and want to make sure everyone would get along ok. i thought about getting two each color. i do 25% water change twice a week so that many fish should be ok right?? I only have one male guppy and he's not very interested in the girls, but when we do start having fry i'll give them away.
Thanks!!;-)

Ideally they should be kept in tanks larger than ten gallons as they really appreciate lots of swimming room, but you might be able to get away with it. They should be kept in groups as they're a schooling fish. They're also very active fish that like to chase one another around, but they aren't generally actual fin-nippers. A school of 5 or 6 of them should be alright. They'll also school with regular zebra danios, if you wanted a few of each.

thank you iamntbatman!! you sure are helping me out a lot!!! :yourock:

i also wondered about Harlequin Rasboras. would i really need a school of eight?? which would better, glofish or the rasboras???

thanks again, just trying to find the perfect tank mate for me and the guppies.

I think the rasboras would be a better choice. Not quite as hyperactive as the danios.

so if i got six rasboras, would they be ok?? or should i get eight? also should i split it up? like get four then wait a week then get four more??
thank you for all your help!!

i would probs get 6 and get them all at once also they will look good with guppys ...my grandma keeps these two together and there fine :):):)

ok thank you fryup!! i'll have to wait a little bit though, need to get a kitty fixed first. maybe i'll go look at the lfs and make sure they have some!!;-)

I would get three and three. Adding six all at once might be adding more ammonia to the tank than your bacteria can handle.

yeah, that's what i was wondering iamntbatman. i don't wanna mess everything by adding too many fish all at once. will got to lfs tonight, maybe i can bring three home!!
