My Jack Dempsey died today after 5 years together. He was a great fish, but knew he was near the end because he began hiding and resting alot-very uncharacteristic, and also stopped feeding aggressively as usual.
But... on a brighter note... My 50 gallon community just turned into a convict breeder tank because one of my wifes young females turned out to be male and bred with my much older female . He cant be more than 3-4 monthes old, i cant belive hes even mature enough. she' about two years old and very small at about 2.5" and he is even smaller because hes so young. Growing fast though, he doubled is size in only 3 weeks since we got him.
So... with death comes new life and the cycle continues...
