So I get up, finally do my morning security-tank-checking round...EGGS
In my 55g there's about a dozen white colored eggs on the side glass, about 1mm in dia maybe lil less....Who's are they and do I take them out somehow?
I *think* the Cory's may been at work on this one and its their eggs?! Other options of tank mates are kissing gourami and Albino Tiger Barbs.
From the looks on the glass some eggs already been ate.....so what do I best do now? Take out or leave in?
Sorry didn't wait on ya'll input...I took them out into a 2g; I managed to get 8 eggs before the Tigers ate them ALL...Googel image results brings up Cory eggs as well looking like these in my house.
Think they stand a chance? I filled the 2g up with the tank water they were in, tossed some pennywort in it too, set to same Temp as the "mothertank".
You know I hadn't had eggs in the house since I gave up my Killi, much less ever had Cory eggs...how exiting....now I only pray they make it.
Congrats on the eggs! I have only experienced Angel eggs, but I do remember that if they were not kept in with the parents, I had to put an air stone in near the eggs for cirulation that the parents would normally provide by fanning them with their fins. This helps prevent the eggs from getting fungus on them. I also vaguely remember using something added to the water to help prevent fungus on the eggs, but can't really remember. However, this can be all different with different breeds of eggs. I do not know enough about hatching eggs from other breeds...just Angel Fish.
Keep us posted!
I been reading my heart out over here about cory eggs now, being the 1st time for me with cory eggs (i may have had them but being in with the boeseman's no one would have survived more then 2 sec).
How exciting...I hope I can get them to survive....
Ooooh this is so exciting! I can't wait to follow this thread and find out the outcome!!
Byron do you have any cory raising eggs experience???
Anything I read so far all said to sep them, which I did and they'd hatch anywhere from 3-6 days and just feed them baby food few times a day...All I found seems very simple raising really (simple compared to Killi anyway)...So I HOPE mine will make it....any ideas how I could ENSURE they make it would be appreciated thou :-)
Yea you could already see on the glass this AM where there must have been 3 more patches, however these were gone by the time I seen the remaining one's I took out. As they were in 2 lil groups I just sucked them up with the hose right into the 2g which is the egg home now (seemed safest to me this way rather then 'cutting' the eggs with the razor....I'm unexpierenced there Killi put there eggs in lil patches of wool if its offered, which is what I did).
Well I put Pennywort in the tank, tank same water as the 55g and temp set at the same...so I guess now its wait & see what happens this week *hopefully*....I would be nice having some baby's around again lol.
