Possible ich? I want to catch it early.
I have two male platies in QT currently, and one of them has developed a line of tiny white dots along one ray on his tail. It is not visible on the other side of the fish. There is also a single white dot seperate from the "line" also on his tail. I saw him rub himself on the plants once last night and once today. I didn't notice the dots last night. I think the dots are raised.
The other fish has no symptoms. Yet.
Is this ich? If so, what is the best course of treatment? I've never dealt with ich before.
Also, the tank is still cycling, with only ammonia showing at an adverage of .25 ppm which I am regulating with water changes.
My current temperature is 79 deg F, and both fish are looking ill so I'm going to go ahead and start salt treatment. I will raise the temperature to 84 deg F and add 2.5 teaspoons of aquarium salt to my QT aquarium (which has 4 gallons of water in it.)
