Non-Aquarium-related ID please? (Spider)

Down here in Florida, I've found we have some really strange spiders... The most weird is this one down by the beach with huge spikes all over its body, and the entire spider's body is red (It looks kinda like a red sweetgum seed pod). I think I found a similar spider just outside my door building a web in the magnolia tree, and the spikes are still red (Though a darker red), but the body is green and spotty.

I have no idea but you might want to send a PM to Jpet. He'd be my spider go-to guy. :O

We don't have those here in the Northeast thankfully.

I don't mind spiders normally, but I find that thing creepy. :(

Spiney Orb Weaver Spider-(Crab Spider)These colorful little creatures are most commonly seen (in Florida) during the winter months. They build a new web every night. They lay their eggs late in the year and then die. Males are very small and so you don’t see them very often. Their bite can raise a welt and be uncomfortable, so best to avoid irritating them. They are not listed as “venomous”, so it isn’t dangerous. Like most spiders, they are shy, and they are beneficial since they catch insects like mosquitoes and flies in their webs.
