Balloon Molliys

Ok so my girlfriend got her mom a 10 gallon starter kit for christmas, I helped them set it up and got it cycling. So about a week ago we took her to get fish and she picked out Balloon Mollys. So she has 3 in it now. I was wondering what kind of catfish or maybe shrimp or snails or something would be best to with them?

Hello---I've tried many different types of Corys with my Balloon Mollies: Sterbai, Skunk, Bronze, Sangamas and Peppered. They all get along well. Best of luck with your mollies! They're my favorite livebearer.

Thankyou for the info. Much appreciated, but the only thing is its a 10 gallon tank and i know Corys are shoaling fish and like to be in groups. I was looking for a catfish or something that wont grow too big for the tank and will get along with the Balloon Mollys. One that can be by itself.

I really like my gold mystery snail. They're non-invasive, and really cool to watch.

Hmm I'm not sure you could get a small enough catfish for a 10 gallon. Maybe a couple of guppies if theres room? Or are you wanting more of a bottom dweller?

@ La Reina - I may end up getting a snail or two.

@ 1stAquarium - Yea, im looking for something that would clean some of the missed food and waste in the tank and could also be fun or interesting to watch.

Thanks for the replys.

Yay! Good luck with them! :) I think they're funky. Mine jumps off the plants in my aquarium. "Warning! Beware of flying snails!"
