rock anenome on the move
the past week the rock anenome in my tank won't stop moving. he stayed in the same place for3 months (since we got him on the lr) but all of a sudden everynight he's off wandering. he moved down the rock, then to the back then to the top now he's on a completley different rock. is there any reason he might be doing this or is he just bored? :? also could he hurt any other life on the rock with all his moving? after last night the sponge that's on the rock he used to be on doesn't look great. we have those small, i think community, feather dusters and a tiny brittle star fish that he's practically sitting on. i didnt know anenomes could be such weinies!

could you post the size of the tank, the inhabitants, the parameters, how much live rock, how much sand/live sand etc

its a nano tank, we didnt know the anenome was there when we got the live rock just so u know we didnt put himin there hoping he'ld stay forever. it's a 5.5g with 5-6lbs figi lr 5 lb sand, 2 turbo snails, a blue legged hermit, a crimson crab, a coral banded shrimp and a small oscellariiuos clown. the params are good. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and always below 20 nitrate. we didnt buy any featherdusters or anything, our tank is really rather small. though sponge came on the rock as well as a couple majano anenomes, and an apastasia  there is a what i think maybe a micro brittle starfish that only ever sticks his arms out of the hole he's in and the usual tunicates and feather dusters that come on the lr. the tank has alot of stomettela varia too and some bristle worms. i prob will have to do something about the coral banded, i don't want him hurting my fish which apparently they sometimes do.

Anenomes will move for many reasons. If they dont like the spot, search for food, or better light. You will not be able to do anything about it.
