My first planted tank
Size: 15 gallons 24x12x12
Lighting: 2x 14 watt T5, DIY casing (still incomplete, will modify later)
Filtration: Haiyang internal filter rated for 300 lph (Can't find the box and model number)
Substrate: Black Sand
Flora: Anubias, Vallisneria, Bacopa, Sword plant, Moss, and Fern
Fauna: 8 Tiger Barb, 1 Bristlenose Pleco, 1 Shrimp
No CO2 or fertilizers at the moment, but I'm planning to add soon.
Comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Ah, your tank looks great! The real concern here is 8 tigers in a 15. They require a MUCH larger tank than 15gl.
I have a friend who has 8 in a 10 gallon and they've been fine for over a year. Not trying to dispute anyone though. I just go with what works.
I've read about them and the most popular opinion is that they need a 24" tank for 6-8 individuals, which my tank satsifies. I do understand that I'm a bit pushing it with my stocking here, that's why I compensate with religious monitoring of water quality.
Maybe a few months from now I might switch these fish out for another yet-to-be determined stock, preferably one with a lighter bioload.
Thanks for the comment. I hope I didn't sound rude or haughty or anything.
