How much gravel?

Hey Everyone, today is the day I'm going to start my 'plant build'....

i bought all my gravel yesterday.....right now i'm running at a pound per gallon, which leaves about 1 inch above the black trim line....which is about 2 inches deep?

Before i dive into this project...do i have enough gravel? is a 2" base enough for plants to do well???

Thanks everyone!! and stayed tuned for my plant build!

Do you have any extra gravel, if you have 'left overs' I'd just dump them in...anything between 2-3" of fine gravel will do for plants. That's why I said if you have any extra there just top it off.

i got sixty pounds....it'll lay about 2" deep...I can always run out and get another 25 pounds to round it up to 75 pounds total and that'll get me to atleast 3....

THANKS!!

What you have should be fine. If after a month or so you decide you'd like more, you can always get it then. Since all plain gravel does is hold down the plants, you'll know in that amount of time if you have enough.
