guppy questions and talk!?!?!?!

i have recently mentioned in one of my threads i have new guppies that i bought today. anyone interested in talking about their problems and/or tell us about ur guppies! we r all ears!
i have two male guppies and two female guppies. i know not a good combination but thats what the store sold the cheapest for now.that will change. they r in a 5 gallon tank. i hvae many plants in a part of the tank seperated by a divider i put in it. i will put a pregnant female in it when she is close to dropping fry. i will raise them in there and then move the divider over so they have more room to grow. i have a filter. i dont have a heater but the room temperature is 78 so thats good.
so cmon dont be shy anyone wanna talk just post post and post!! if u have any questions to they r welcome here.

Hey I have 6 guppies, 3 male, 3 female. And LOTS of fry!! Is the 5 gal a permanent fixture for the guppies? I am just thinking it might be a bit small especially if you are getting more females, and then all the fry. Just a thought. I am loving watching my guppy fry grow up and start to get their colours! Are your females already pregnant? What colours have you got?

biokid101 01-06-2010 07:44 PM

yea i think its a bit small for like 10 of them.they wont be in there forever no. on the paper the tank came with they said i could have a couple more. im not gonna get fry if i just have 2 females.
i think my females r pregnant im not sure yet. they have a gravid spot and its black and red.
my femaleshttp://www.aquariumfish.net/images_0..._from_kate.jpg are both this colour. but not that big.its actually a pic i got from the internet. my one male is fully yellow with a trapazoid shaped tail and the fin on the top is like a ponytail lol.my other male is red black and white and i think he is a fantail.

Hahaha a ponytail what a good description, 2 of my males have that as well. I'm not sure about the different types of guppies eg fantails, that's something I definitely want to learn more about :)
