Question regarding bone charcoal and activated carbon
I have a 55 gallon cichlid/African tank and 29 freshwater. The small private-owned business where I buy supplies insists on my using bone charcoal in our Hagen Power filter. It is extremely expensive and the only place I can find it is at her store.
Can someone please tell me the difference between using the carbon that goes with this filter or the charcoal?
thanks so much
As you say one of the main differnces is the expense. As fair as I am aware Activted carbon will filter and absorb more gunk than the charcoal, but the question has to be asked, hwy use either in the first place ? :)
