havent gone yet cause idk what to get! |
anyone please? havent gone yet because didnt get answer, going this week need your answers please!!! |
I think a Firemouth should be fine. A pair might be asking for trouble if they spawn but one would be ok. Frontosa get too big for a 55 and should be kept in groups. Also, they're African cichlids and require harder water than American cichlids. Rope Eel I'm not sure about. The JD may get too aggressive for it. Here's some info on it: Tropical Fish for Freshwater Aquariums: Rope Fish Maybe do some more research on them or someone with experience may chime in. |
ok i will probably get a firemouth. thank you! also i was looking at jaguar cichlids and texas cichlids. will these work. im thinking of trying the rope fish since i will have a steady income of baby guppies. if he gets hurt i can return him. i have looked everywhere for tankmate lists or info on jack dempseys and cant find anything! |
Ooohh...I love Jags but they need a larger tank. Not sure on the Texas. I know they can get some size on them also. I have a JD, firemouth and salvini in my 55 and so far so good. Although, I did introduce them into the tank all on the same day. The JD is male and the FM and sal are female which I think helps. A convict may work also but I have no experience with them. How big is your JD? |
my JD is about 2-3 inch. i cant live with convicts, i had to put my favorite one down because he was killing all the fish and no1 could take him. i just cant go through that again, very emotional. ill look into texas tommorow. time for bed :P |
