My new swordtail gave birth lastnight

Hey all! In my other post I mentioned that I had bought some new fish the other day. Well the 2 swordtails appeared pregnant, and sure enough about a half hour after a water change lastnight she started to give birth!

I have never seen a fish give birth before, and I have to say it was absolutely amazing! Unfortunately she died sometime lastnight, but she gave birth to close to 40 fry, all of which are still alive. Every single fry she gave birth to survived the night!

Anyway, just wanted to share it with you guys, I am really excited about it. I am sure I will have some questions soon enough

I know this isn't the right area for this but I didn't want to make a new post. I am so upset, I just got home from the fish store actually and I saw that my betta was dead :sob: I had him for almost 2 years, he was so beautiful. Ugghh my day is ruined now.
