So my tanks started cycling about 2 weeks ago now and my hardy fish have been in for about 1 week of that.
How long until my tank will be cycled 100% and when can i start adding new fish?
Have you been monitoring your water and are you able to post those test results? You're going to see an ammonia spike, followed by a nitrite spike, then finally a reading for nitrates. Without testing your water you have no way of knowing where in the cycle you are. You also need to be doing water changes when you see elevated readings in order to prevent any suffering on the part of your fish. Is this tank planted?
Just like Aunt Kymmie said, will all rise and then drop to 0 then you're done. So hopefully you had bought the test kit like we all suggested a while ago.
And I must have missed a post or so...but what fish did you wind up adding now???
I'm guessing the fish he has are the Africans in his sig.
IME, cycling can take anywhere from 6-8 weeks. Definitely need to get a test kit so you can see where you are in the cycle. Or, take your water in periodically to the LFS and have them test it. Make sure they use a liquid test, not the dip strips. But it really is better to invest in your own kit. Post back here with your test results (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, Ph) and we can help you then.
