Tank Suggestions

3 Attachment(s)
Hey guys, ive been staring at my tank and im honestly not really happy with it yet. I feel like its missing so much. Its 30g and I definetly want to add more plants mabey some micro swords, or some rocks, possibly build a cave just something, it looks so empty, so much open space. Im posting a few pics up for your suggestions, since i really like the way the majority of your tanks look. Im open to all suggestions.

I Also have a quick question about lighting. What would be a good type of lighting to use for my plants, some of them look great while one of them seems a lil ehh like. What are your opinions on Flourish Comprehensive. Ive read about people using it, should i buy some to help my plants? Also will it be safe for my fish?

I'd add many more plants in this tank.
What kinda signs do your current plants show, like yellow leaf or yellow spots? Yes then get a liquid fertilizer. I have recently also done a bunch research on various fert's and came up to use the flourish - How well it works (for me) I can't tell you just yet. But on here there's MANY people using this very successfully!

Yeah more plants is the way to go I would say. You already have some sizable decor in there so a nice planted background would give the appearance of a densely plated forest. Fish would like it too.

Ive noticed that the fish stores around me dont sell the flourish, anyone know a good website with a decent price on it that sells it. Im going to go check out more plants today. everytime i go to petco the plants are yellow and dying so i pass on them. Also yes i have some yellow leaves and yellow spots.

All that tank is missing is a giant Sponge Bob and Shirley Squirrel! J/K

I'm definitely a fan of plants so definitely more plants, maybe a row of twisted Val along the back to screen the glass and give it more depth, or some Temple Green??? Something tall maybe even some Star Grass.

As far as ferts go, I can't help you much there, I'm still trying to get my plants to look great. I can say, beside SeaChem's Flourish, there are other comprehensive ferts that work well. Kent makes one that a lot of people like.

Lolololol at sponge bob. I acctually found a local fish store only 5 miles away so im going to look and see what plants he has. Im just tired of the people at petco trying to sell me dying plants.

 Living close by me are you?

Here's where I order any tank stuff, good prices and super speedy shipping Pet Solutions
Look for Flourish Comprehensive Fert and/ or Excel - Me pers I start liquid all in 1 fetrs now and adding root tablets. Yellow spots is signs of deficits meaning not get enough and/ or all nutrition needed.
For buying plants only this is the site I use, love their quality Sweet Aquatics

Thank you so much, Is that sweet aquatics website safe to order off of? I clicked a few of their links like the shipment and returns to get an idea on shipping costs and there is nothing there...

Yes I ordered 2x from them so far and I am totally happy! I donno about shipping rates, you can calculate them when you add stuff tot he cart - But $45 or more is free shipping, so that's why I never paid shipping :-)

They're not too great in Marketing and doing bunch of fancy stuff on the page itself - But their plants sure ROCK and if you get lucky like me...I ordered 2 Crypto's and received 12 :-)
