finally some tank pics... 10 Attachment(s) some pics of my three tanks.. pleco, oscars and silver dollar, and peacock bass all in different tanks..looking for any criticism here on how to improve my setups..pleco tank under construction.. |
ok, first of all get rid of the DW you have in the pleco tank and sell it to me, looks totally wrong in your tank!!! (jk - looks totally awesome, I love this piece!!!) Normally I'd suggest plants plants & more plants...but with the fish you have that should be sorta difficult lol - So leave it like it is and be happy?! |
looking for a fw other fish to add to my pleco tank..wanted a pacu or to but im not really sure..im gonna add some plastic plants soon...thanks for the compliments... |
You have some gorgeous fish. The only thing I can think of is that the plecos need caves and hiding spots for security as they are pretty much nocturnal and will want to hide during the day. Are you planning on something like that for them? Mine stay in hiding all day and come out when the tank lights go off for the nightl |
Tanks look great! What size tank are your Peacock Bass in? Those things get HUGE! BTW, nice Oscars. And I love that big piece of DW (in the pleco tank) also.:-) |
pleco tank is under construction..adding the terra cotta caves this week was gonna add a few pacu but now im not sure...the peacocks are in a 48 bowfront untill the 180 is delivered.. the 48 is my quarentine tank.. i love the advice keep it coming..the oscars are my favorite, the are like little dogs, i can evben pet them, |
Awesome job so far. Keep the progress pics coming too. |
i was either gonna use terra cotta pots to make a cave or try to build up the larger piece in the center with smaller pieces of driftwood..thje plecos like to stay under the main piece so i figure i can enclose at least one side of it making a natural cave..the artificial plants are on order.. any other tips or advice would be great...any thoughts on adding a pacu or two? |
Beautiful oscars and silver dollars! And those plecos are HUGE how big are your dollars? I got mine 3 months ago, but they are only about 3 inches yet. |
Personally, for the plecos, I think I would just add more driftwood. It seems they may have kind of a hard time turning around in a terra cotta pot unless you bored out the bottom so they could just swim straight through. But I think more DW would look more natural. Never kept pacus so I can't help you there. But I think they would be ok with the plecos as long as you had a big enough tank for them. |
