Lost a Fish Today... :-(
Lost a fish today. :-( One of the three white clouds that's been in my tank since the beginning just wen from looking healthy at 3 PM to dead at 6:30 PM! I'm really not sure that it is fully related to the nitrites / nitrates problem I posted earlier this week in this forum... of the three white clouds I had, this is the only fish that never got any bigger in the 3 months I've had him. I think he may have been treated as the "runt" by all others and therefore got overstressed and passed today - if there is such a possibility among fish? Although the spike in nitrites - however small - may have been a contributor to his demise.
And here I thought things were going so well... :-(
If it never grew along the lines & size of the others growth this fish had some difficulty's from the start, add the nitrite issue, maybe some bullying from other and yea it could easily have passed away being overstressed. For all you know this fish's been sick since you got it, or maybe it was just really old...Is there's no immediate sign of an issue in your tank (water quality) that hints to sick fish and all others are doing well don't worry about it - It just really does happen at times no matter how good care we take of them.
Thanks Angel! Means a lot... although now I'm watching the other fish in there all paranoid and thinking like... why did that fish do that? Why does it swim funny? DID it swim funny? Call the fish shrink!
Or probably the real one!
Sorry... been a long week... 8|
I know it can be really frustration, I was the same way with the sick Cardinals, not only were they my first sick fish ever but they also died on me, which I blamed myself for not knowing enough abut meds etc..
But seriously it does happen! And I really really think in your case what a mixture of matters and noothing you could have really influenced, so forgive yourself and have a good weekend non the less :-)
