Feeding Assassin Snails

Here are a few questions I want to ask before I buy Assassin Snails for my tank. If I order them and I have no other snails in my tank, well they go after any fish or shrimp I buy or would they accept wafers and other food? And would I need to buy some say Mystery Snails to keep them healthy or can they do without other snails? Right now I want to make sure I don't accidently put something that is either going to die from starvation or becomes a buffet for somebody else.

Assassin snails live up to their name haha, They've been reported to eat other snails and sometimes shrimp If they get too hungry. (They're actually used to keep other snail populations down.) They're scavengers and carnivors so they eat anything really. Bloodworms, pellets. They should find enough in your tank to eat, if not you can feed them shrimp pellets.
They're compatible with most fish except loaches, and cichlids.

So they would go after the shrimp when they can't find any other food. Basically I don't have to buy other snails to keep up their food supply. nice to know.
