ok i have a pair of gourami and i had a second pair but the female passed away now i have one pair and 2 other males do i have to worry about my female is she going to be stressed out by the males? other fish problem i have a female pineapple and a male swordtail but they are not breeding no more i got some really cute babies out of them but it seams like they are just not interested anymore in each other i tried to add a new tuxedo to see if he would mate with my girl but no luck am i hopping for nothing or do my fish need a manual.
I beleive that crossing Swordtails with platys will only produce sterile young. How old is your female? And what species is she?
she is fairly young and she is a pineapple swordtail
a pineapple is a color morph of a sword so they should breed as long as your male is a normal male sword(long fin swords can't breed)
Gouramis I feel should be fine unless they start getting aggressive.
As far as swordtails and platies crossing, it is possible and this hybrid is usually no sterile, a number of color morphs swords carry some platy DNA and vice versa with some platy color morphs.
