10 gallon stocking question?
Would a 10 gallon well planted tank be ok for one Neon Gourami, 6-7 Neon Tetra, and some sort of bottom fish that you guys can suggest. Or maybe some shrimp instead of a bottom feeder fish? I have an extra 10 gallon I am trying to figure out what I want to do with. LOL Right now it has no fish in it just very fine gravel, heater, and filter. Plants will be going in later this week.
Mmmh... personally I think 1 dwarf gourami, 6-7 neon and a school of bottom feeders would be a little squishy. The DG might eat the shrimp and the tanks's a little small for your average cory. Since you like the color of the neon dwarf gourami, why don't you go for it's smaller cousin, the sunset (honey) gourami. That ways you could have your neons, plus a school of about 6-8 pygmy or dwarf cories on clean up duty.
The sunset honey is very pretty to and is readily avaliable locally so that would work. Pygmy Corys are hard to find here that is why I was thinking about maybe shrimp.
Shrimp would work equally as well... If you go for neons and the honey, you could definitely fit a dozen or so cherry shrimp in there. And plus, the cherry shrimp bear a strong resemblance to Jacques from finding nemo... I just love 'em!!!
Yes I was thinking about the cherrys but the only ones I can find locally are ghost. I think I will try a few ghost and if they do not get eaten maybe place an order for some cherrys somewhere. LOL
