How to store an aquarium
How would you safely store an aquarium. I founf a great deal that i couldnt pass up but i will not be able to set up the aquarium for about a month. Someone once told me an aquarium should not sit empty for too long! Anyone know how long that is?
I don't see why storing an aquarium for too long would be a problem especially only for a month... when you pick it up give it a good clean make sure it dry's out completely and store it with something covering the top of the tank so you get less bugs and spiders dust ect in the tank.
i guess you could have it sitting on news paper so the bottom won't get scratched,
and possibly wrapp it ina blanket so the sides don't get scratched aswell.
aquarium shops don't seem to have a problem theirs,so
i don't think there is anything in particular you would need to do.
oh apart from make sure it's on a flat surface.
Thanks for the help Right now i have 5 or six inches of water in it to check the bottom seals , no leaking yet so i guess ill drain it and wrap it in blankets in my garage. I don't know why my friend told me the seals would dry and crack if it was empty!
i don't know about that, maybe if the weather was rather lower than expected,
i guess you could always ask at the pet store.
i wonder if anyone here has ever had a tank in storage bust ??
