Still treating tank for bad disease
Well I'm still treating my tank for a bad disease. I lost 14 guppies in the process so far. The neons still look good and the one Lyre tail guppy I have left looks stressed and barely eats. I treated the tank with salt, melafix, and pirmafix in that order. So for now I will be treating the tank for 7 days with the 2 "fixes" as instructed and watching my 4 live fish for signs of improvement. So far only a very slight sign of ammonia a few days ago (lasted ony a day) and no sign of nitrite yet so I'm thinking the "seeding" from the other tank has worked because I have had this tank up and running for 10 days so far. The treatments are said not to cause harm the the filter bed. Hopeing that is right and that the treatments actually do work. Ahhh the joys of the aquarium hobby!
Good luck with the fish! I have used the Melafix and Primafix together, it did not harm the cycle.
Good to know. The big question is did it cure the illness??
No, for me it did not work.:-(
Sure wish you good Luck Rob! Just went through medicating my 55g with no luck and that's not nice to witness, so I sure hope things work out better for you!
