What are the dimensions of your tank TerryAnn? |
36 x 18 x 24 |
Nice width for aquascaping. Is that the Seio 1500 you bought? |
Yep, you can set it a few different ways, I don't like it with the full body over it, but WOW alot of power, was very impressed, just waiting for the koralia 4 I ordered from ebay now. |
That's going to be a lot of flow! Very good, just make sure that you aren't blowing corals off the rocks and your fish aren't cowering in the corner. I use a Hydor 2, 3 & 4 in my 150 with a Mag 12 as a return for flow, and I have about a 25X turnover rate. You'll have something closer to 40X!!! But if you use one high and one low you will get a good current throughout the tank. I can't wait till you add sand and rock! |
yeah, I figured on 40x with the 2 together, but I will adjust them to make sure nothing is getting blown out of the tank....LOL salt reading is 1.024, so have added the sand, pretty cloudy for the moment, will post a pic later, once I can see it better, nice feeling sand though. does it matter whether I add the dry rock first or the live rock? is there any specific order? I would like to add the dry rock, about 35 lbs of it, mixed with about 15 lbs of cured live rock, then later this week add another 25 lbs of cured live rock, would this be ok?? PS protein skimmer will be hooked up monday or tuesday. |

will definately wait until all readings are clear, after both additions, not in a rush to transfer the fish yet :) still have to pick up that alkalinity test kit, will be some time this week as well, Since I decided on a less than 1" sand bed, how much live rock do you figure? I was thinking around 85- 90 lbs total ? |
