The ideal tank for a Ghost Knife and Red Belly Pacus/Oscar?
I am looking into getting a Ghost Knife and an Oscar. I've kept Oscars in the past, and I have a 55 with a UG filter to fit. I'm on prettty low budget and already have smooth gravel and everything, though it'll be a while before I can get the fish.
Would I be able to keep an Oscar with these fish, or no?
Plenty of questions to come, if you have information, please give it.
Same for Pacus... you are looking at at least a 100g tank for those guys I believe.
And as far as cheap filtration goes, I actually find that more expensive filters (they usually don't require those stupid carbon inserts) actually pretty much pay for themselves in the long term because the filter media lasts forever and is dirt cheap.
By replacing my free Aquatec 20-40 with a $40 Fluval 2 Plus, I have calculated that I will pay for it in about a year from all the filter inserts I no longer have to buy!
